The maamarim 2
- שמאלו תחת לראשי וימינו תחבקני His Left Hand Is Under My Head, and His Right Hand Embraces Me G‑d’s “left hand,” the rejection that a person’s failings arouse above, is itself what lifts him up: from distance comes the boundless love of “with all your might,” and then G‑d’s “right hand,” the Torah and mitzvos, embraces him so that he does not fall.
- זה יתנו כל העובר על הפקודים מחצית השקל… This they shall give, everyone who passes over among the counted A Jew’s love of G‑d has two halves: the love born of contemplating G‑d’s oneness, which is commanded, lies within a person’s choice and is required even of one who has sinned (the half-shekel); and the great love that comes from above as a gift, to each soul by its measure, which completes the shekel’s twenty gerah.
Learn it in seven days Sunday to Shabbos
The Rebbe asked that all the maamarim of the week’s parsha be learned in that week, spread over its seven days. Here is the parsha in seven portions of about equal length.
